Litigation

If you have a civil litigation matter you may call upon 25 years of experience in the area. Staff and counsel at the Law Office of J. Bruce MacNaughton have the experience and resources to represent clients at all levels of court in complex matters. We are also very aware that the traditional techniques of litigation are only one of a number of methods available to resolve business and personal disputes. We participate in, where appropriate, Alternate Dispute Resolution (A.D.R.) to avoid litigation and to obtain practical, economical solutions when litigation does occur.

Up to date litigation support including hardware, software and investigative techniques are utilized extensively. The office maintains a multi-unit network operating Microsoft XP Professional and Vista linked with Palm Treo Smartphones (Cellphone/Palm PDA) wireless technology. Up to date legal research methods are employed using, among other sources, The Internet, Lexus Nexus/QuickLaw and the extensive online library resources of the Frontenac Law Association and the Law Library of the Faculty of Law at Queen's University. Document management by Microsoft Office 2000/XP, Visionary Legal Technologies, Textbridge, Dragon Naturally Speaking, and Paigis Pro among others.

Experience has been obtained in several Courts in Kingston and from Ottawa to Toronto/Hamilton including Federal Court of Canada, Coroner's Court, Ontario Superior Court of Justice , Ontario Court Criminal Division, Ontario Court Family Division, and several Administrative Tribunals.

Please contact us to discuss matters involving contract and business disputes (breach of contract, real estate litigation, &c.), personal injury (slip & fall, product liability, &c.), insurance claims (homeowner's policies, auto, &c.), administrative and regulatory hearings, debtor/creditor, and some other areas.
